QR Code Generator
Turn text or a URL into a downloadable QR code
Turns any text or URL into a scannable QR code, generated instantly as a downloadable PNG image — no file upload, no account, just type and generate.
How it works
Typing your text or link and clicking Generate encodes it directly into a QR code pattern using the qrcode library, rendered onto a canvas at 512×512 pixels and exported as a PNG. Nothing about what you type is sent anywhere — the whole encoding happens in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
Is the text or URL I enter sent to a server?
No — the QR code is generated entirely in your browser using JavaScript. What you type never leaves your device.
What size is the generated QR code?
512×512 pixels, which prints and scans reliably at typical sizes. If you need it larger, most image editors can upscale a QR code without hurting scannability, since it's a simple black-and-white pattern.
Is there a limit to how much text I can encode?
QR codes can hold a few thousand characters, but very long text produces a denser, harder-to-scan pattern — for anything long, a shortened URL usually scans more reliably than raw text.
Can I generate a QR code for anything other than a URL?
Yes — any text works: plain messages, Wi-Fi details typed as text, contact info, and so on. The tool doesn't validate or require a URL format.
Why won't it generate anything?
The input box can't be empty — you'll see an inline error if you click Generate with nothing typed.
