QR Code Reader
Decode a QR code from an uploaded image
Decodes a QR code from an uploaded image and shows you the text or URL it contains, with a one-click copy button and a direct "open link" button when the content is a web address.
How it works
The browser decodes the image into raw pixel data and scans it for a QR code pattern using the jsQR library, trying both the normal and color-inverted versions of the image in case the QR code uses light-on-dark styling. If a code is found, its decoded content is displayed immediately; if not, you'll get a clear "no QR code found" message rather than a blank result.
Frequently asked questions
What if the image doesn't contain a QR code?
You'll see a specific "no QR code found in this image" message, so it's clear the scan actually ran rather than silently failing.
Does it work with any kind of QR code content, or just URLs?
Any text content — URLs, plain text, Wi-Fi credentials, contact cards, and so on. If the decoded content happens to be a web address, an "open link" button appears alongside the copy button.
What's the size limit?
100MB per image.
Is the image uploaded anywhere to decode it?
No — decoding happens entirely in your browser using the image's own pixel data.
Why didn't it recognize the QR code in my photo?
Common causes are a blurry or low-resolution photo, a QR code that's too small or at a steep angle in the frame, or heavy glare or shadow across it — try a straighter, sharper photo of just the code.
